Clams Dream Interpretation and Meaning
According to Carl Jung, wild animals in dreams represent the emotions and feelings we’d rather not deal with on a conscious level. Wild animals also symbolize dangers, or things that might hurt us, that are “consumed” by the unconscious mind. Interpretations of wild animals in dreams depend on your particular relationship with those animals in your daily, waking life. Animals often represent certain qualities or aspects of your personality.
When it comes to dreaming of clams, therefore, the interpretation of the dream may involve meanings such as avoidance, reticence, keeping secrets – in other words, “clamming up.” Or clams could signify the fact that you are “happy as a clam.”
If you dream of clam with its shell closed, this is an indication that perhaps you are being emotionally unavailable to someone you know. You may be shutting out the people who want to get close to you, or not telling loved ones about the problems you are facing or communicating the feelings you have about a certain situation.
Because water in a dream symbolizes emotions or unconscious feelings that underlie your waking life, it’s not unusual for creatures that live in water, like clams, to also represent these emotions or feelings.
In some cultures, clams symbolize a transitional period in life, while in others, a dream of clams indicates future prosperity.
Dreams of shells symbolize fragile things, and in some civilizations, they have represented women. Because clams are bivalves – they have two shells – they are thought to symbolize marriage or other link between a man and a woman. If you have a romantic partner in your life, and you have a dream in which to find a clam shell, this indicates that your partner is an ideal marriage prospect. Finding a clam shell in a dream can also mean that you’ll soon receive a marriage proposal.
