Monk Dream Interpretation and Meaning
Monk Dreams Leave You Alone
The term monk is derived from the Greek word, “monos” which means “alone”. Today, a monk is typically a person who practices religious asceticism – the conditioning of ones mind and body in favor of the spirit. Monks pursue this practice while either living alone or with nay number of like-minded individuals. In addition, these monks work to maintain some physical separation from those in the “outside world”.
To dream of a monk could indicate that you have a need to separate yourself for some self-examination. You may need to get away from the hassle and stress of everyday life and turn inwards for a time.
If you dream of a monk (or of being one) in a monastery, you can take this as an indication of a need for seclusion. You need to take some time to contemplate your place in the world. It may also indicate that you lack a sense of belonging or community. Your spirit is seeking for a spiritual community – one where you will feel acceptance and belonging while you work to achieve a greater spiritual balance.
If, in your dream, you are receiving instruction or assistance from the monk, you would do well to seek the help of someone with more life experience than you in achieving this balance. Talking with a member of the clergy, an older relative, a therapist, or even a trusted boss or supervisor may help you get over the hurdles you are facing. Your dream is trying to tell you that you need to look inward and see balance and greater spiritual health.
