Monster Dream Interpretation and Meaning
Monster Dreams Are Coming to Get You
You wake up in a cold sweat, heart pounding and not sure where you are. After a few moments have passed, you realize you’ve just had a bad dream – a nightmare. You may feel uncommonly frightened, even terrified. Sometimes the feelings go away quickly, other times you are afraid to go back to sleep, lest you enter the nightmare world all over again.
Nightmares can be about almost anything. Although children tend to dream of monsters more often, anyone – child or adult – can do so. If you dream of a monster, you may be trying to deal with a great fear of something. If you dream of a fiery beast, for example, soon after your house has burned down, it would be reasonable to say that your fear is fire.
Dreaming of a monster might also indicate that you feel threatened by someone or something. Does your monster resemble someone you feel threatened by? Does the beast walking through your unconscious look eerily like your hateful neighbor down the street? Have you been afraid to confront her about her loud music and trash cans left lying in the road? Your dream of this monster should tell you that not only do you feel threatened but that you feel fear when thinking of dealing with the situation.
Dreaming of a grotesque monster might indicate your horror and disgust over something that is happening in your life. Maybe something terrible or traumatic is affecting you or your family, perhaps a violent crime or a natural disaster? Any of these would be extremely stressful to deal with when you are awake; dreaming of monsters when your conscious life is tough is your brain’s way of trying to deal with it all. If you have been downplaying the effects of these events in your life, your dreams of monsters may be trying to tell you that its time to examine your issues and deal with them. Heed the monster within.
