Lamb Dream Interpretation and Meaning

Share

The dream lamb symbolizes innocence and purity; in other words, it represents who you really are when you are not impacted by worldly problems. It also represents your desire to forgive someone in your life for some harm they did to you. The appearance of a lamb in a dream symbolizes love, warmth, and gentleness.

In Christianity, the lamb is a symbol of spiritual sacrifice, as indicated by the Lamb of God, for example. To explore the sacrifice theme further, the dream lamb may suggest that you want to eliminate any feelings of guilt you have by starting over again in your life.  The lamb has historically been associated with Christ, and its innocence and purity represented real power for defeating evil. Ancient societies that kept herds of sheep believed the lambs born every spring were symbols of survival after a hard winter. The sacrifice of a lamb for food was therefore seen as connected to the giving of life and redemption.

A dream of a lamb is generally a positive one. It indicates that good things will come to you and that you will prosper if you sacrifice happiness and pleasure. The dream lamb is a symbol of friendship as well. If you dream of cooking, eating, or serving a lamb, this means that your finances will improve immediately.

If you see a dead lamb in your dream, this suggests a period of sadness, while dreaming of blood on the white fleece of a lamb symbolizes the suffering of innocent people due to the betrayal of others. The appearance of a lost lamb is a warning to take care in how you conduct yourself, while a dream of lambskins symbolizes comfort and pleasure gained at the expense of others.

If you dream that you are eating lamb chops, you are likely to experience worries or illness associated with children. If you have a dream in which you are carrying a lamb, it suggests that you will be willing and able to lavish love and devotion on those around you and will spare no expense to make them happy.

    • Hi Ola,

I would enjoy waging an interpretation of your dream! If "God" as a voice or presence told you that the lamb represents you, that's an easy thing to interpret. Obviously it does. That you are holding it to your chest indicates your care and protection of some attribute of yourself that your ex boyfriend either didn't like, or didn't understand. This attribute could be something like your sense of innocence, blind trust, purity, openness, gentleness or some other "fragile" personality feature. These attributes are attractive to people who need a friend, and likely you are a gentle, open, friendly and accepting person. This could have made your ex boyfriend jealous if he was not in a psychologically safe place in his own life. He may have been uncomfortable about some attribute of himself and in response was belittling you for your comfort in those attributes of yourself. To make you less confident about personal attributes he was not comfortable with in himself, for some reason or another, could have felt like a way to protect you or more likely protect himself. That he demanded you kill the lamb, may suggest the threatening feelings you were getting from him in conscious life. Like he wanted you to sacrifice some native part of yourself. Or he simply could have been making you feel like you were required to make a sacrifice, in general.

This might not be useful 2 years later, but maybe it will help you think about your future dreams?

    • I feel as if this lamb is representing the old you for your bad ways and how it 's appearance is making you debate with God on killing it. Also if this ex boy friend is an ex because he hurt you or something bad happended, god is probably telling you to move on because you are harming yourself with that past .

  • Ola: To me that dream sounds like God was trying to remind you who you are to him. That you are innocent, precious and pure, and sadly your ex boyfriend tried to change you or maybe not even on purpose he just caused you to forget who you were cause you were so focused on him. The fact that in the dream you protected the lamb could mean you were protecting yourself because deep down you know who you are and you are strong :)

  • I had a meeting the next day with the authorities (DEA) and the night before this thing from another world was in my room all I can say is I believe it was the reaper and I could see this angel of death. The entire room smelled of sulphur and rot. I was awake and could move, I just watched this thing standing in the corner of my room looking at me and then away, I stayed very stil..the room became so cold. I finally fell asleep and that night I had the most wonderful dream. I saw all of these silver coins stacked as far as my eyes could see and then I was somewhere where these lambs passed me and one approached me and looked into my being. The next thing I remember was seeing it's back leg shaved and bleeding down, not bad but the lamb was cut and bleeding. I woke up the next morning feeling a sense of so much love it made me tear up and cry and for some reason I knew everything was going to be okay. Long story short, everything ended up working out with that matter.

    I swear on all
My being, I believe that lamb that approached me was Christ, God.

  • Hi. I had a dream that I saw a little baby lamb running from a wolf and it ran towards my home. I quickly open my door to save the lamb from getting eaten by the wolf. It ran into my house and I quickly shut the door behind it, so the wolf cannot get in. I then grabbed the baby lamb & hugged it.

  • I dreamt I was carrying a lamb and it placed it’s leg around my neck like a hug then it said it was hurt and I noticed one of its nails were broken. It told me it was hurt. I felt love towards the lamb and that it loved me. It started to get late in the afternoon. It was winter but I wasn’t cold. There was some snow and ice on the ground and I almost slipped. I had to ask someone how to get back to where I was staying with a lot of other people like a farm. I had to go down the road then make a right. The lamb did not feel too heavy and I showed it to a few people when I got back to where I was staying. Someone asked if I was keeping it but I said that I lived in a small apartment and I couldn’t because no pets or animals were allowed there. I felt happy with the lamb . I felt it was safe with me and that it loved me and wanted to stay with me. I never put it down nor did it try to get down from my arms. It’s coat was white but not thick as I could see spots of it’s pink flesh in areas where the wool was light. Somehow I knew it was a male baby lamb and it’s name began with a “P.”
